Understanding dog-friendly hiking trails

British Columbia

Golden Ears Provincial Park — named for its twin peaks, with stunning scenery and plenty of dog-friendly hiking trails, designated swimming and off-leash areas.

Porteau Cove Provincial Park — on North America’s southernmost fjord, with sandy beaches and walking trails.

Alberta

Elk Island National Park — a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve where leashed dogs are allowed on most trails, with wildlife viewing.
