6 ways to pass time on an RV road trip
From nostalgic audio books to capturing a photo diary, here’s how we like to pass time on an RV road trip.
1. Track your route on a printed map
Break out a map of your journey and mark it as you go — where you’ve been, the detours worth taking, and the roads nobody else is on.
2. Check out an audio book
Library memberships offer a wide array of free audio book rentals. A childhood favourite the whole family knows is a good place to start.
3. Research your destination
Put the co-pilot to work: bring a guide book, search Google, or watch videos on YouTube about where you’re heading.
4. Create a photo diary
The passing scenery, the landmarks and the pit stops as you document your journey — and give the kids a camera so you get their version too.
5. Download a few podcasts
Especially if you’re driving alone. Hobbies, true crime series, or something RV-specific.
6. Play mad libs
The books run from silly to scandalous, and they hold up for a surprisingly long stretch of highway.
